Promotional items drive customers to online resources

Two power utility districts recently used promotional giveaways to celebrate Public Power Week. According to the Wenatchee World, Chelan and Douglas County PUDs recognized the week earlier this October alongside 2,000 public utilities from around the United States.

To support Public Power Week, Oregon Scientific donated weather radios. The firms planned to give the items away through a contest, which required Douglas customers to enter online and join the new online billing system. Meanwhile, Chelan took a social media-based approach when it came to its promotion. The news source reports the PUD asked clients to like its Facebook page in order to win the radios.

Both of these strategies can be effective for raising brand awareness and building on online presence. By using promotion items, the PUDs were able to direct consumers to their new digital resources.

Small businesses can implement the same the tactic in order to generate brand recognition. Unique promotional products can be extremely effective for marketing social media pages and online tools. The items can help a company drive traffic to its website, which can lead to an increase in e-commerce sales.
